An Independent Living Campus for Active Retirees
The Adventist Home Campus is a caring and family-like community where we work together and help each other. As you peruse this site, you will get a little glimpse of what it is like to be a part of our retirement community.
The Adventist Home is a place where you can choose to be active, or if you wish, relax in a quiet spot. To truly see the beauty of the area, we encourage you to come and visit our campus so we can give you a tour. Just let us know when you would like to come, and we will be happy to have you meet our staff and residents.
Also, for your spiritual enrichment, the Livingston Seventh-day Adventist Church is located adjacent to our campus.
The Hudson Valley area in Columbia County and also areas nearby offer many opportunities and services.
Our History
Over 50 years ago a small group of laymen purchased the former Potts Memorial Sanitarium and its grounds and created the Adventist Home Inc as a retirement center for Seventh-day Adventists. Subsequently it was given to the Greater New York Conference.
This facility has been serving the Greater New York Conference since that time. The Adventist Home is managed by on site staff and governed by a board appointed by the Greater New York Conference.
The main buildings were used as an assisted living facility until 2005. A nursing home was also established on the property. This has been sold and is now under new management as Livingston Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and is located across a private road convenient to the Adventist Home. The Livingston Church is adjacent to Adventist Home. Church members hold services in the Nursing Home every Sabbath afternoon for the residents.
